I think the title says it all, and because that’s the case, I’ll say it again: I launched my Patreon today, and it feels amazing!
If you haven’t seen any of the social media posts or blog post endings mentioning my Patreon, the long and short of it is, after two years of being in a creative slump, I finally decided it was time to publish my work. Grimmfay is a fantasy novel with fairy-tale elements and a glittering dark circus, and as they say, not all that glitters is gold…
I wrote the book back in 2018 after moving to a new place and needing something to occupy my free time. If I were going to pitch to agents, I’d call it “Lunar Chronicles meets Night Circus.” If you’re familiar with those, great! If not, there’s a circus during nighttime, an ensemble cast of characters, and a mashup of fairy tales. It’s a labor of love. It’s the book I’ve always wanted to write, and I’m beyond thrilled to be sending it into the wild.
You may also know that I’m a fiction editor (and if you didn’t, you do now). While I initially conceived of my Patreon being just about my writing, I quickly realized I love editing and helping writers too much to leave it out of the mix. So while much of my Patreon is about Grimmfay, there are also several benefits for authors looking to embark or continue along their creative journey. From general writing/editing posts to a monthly critique of your work, I’ve got your back.
Well, I’d love to stick around longer, but I’ve got a show to get to. Up for joining me? I’d love to have you, and if you become a patron before January 21, you’ll get a special personalized digital ticket to Grimmfay!
See you at the circus!
Come one, come any,
Bring few, bring many!
The might, the magic, the majesty…
